The 10,000 Interns Foundation Unveils Dynamic Rebrand and Announces Transformational Changes to Board of Trustees
London, 17th July 2023 — The 10,000 Interns Foundation is thrilled to announce an exciting rebranding initiative that marks a new chapter in its journey. With a fresh visual identity and an invigorated vision: to champion underrepresented talent at scale, the Foundation is poised to make an even greater impact as it creates more life-changing paid internship opportunities.
As part of this transformative phase, the Foundation is also pleased to announce its search for a new Chair – part of a wider strategy of Board evolution. This bold step reflects the Foundation’s commitment to growth and development, ensuring it remains at the forefront, of innovation and effectiveness; as it has since its founding in 2020, having created almost 5,000 paid internships in just 3 years as well as training, mentoring, and development opportunities for the 25,000 students and graduates who have so far come through our programmes.
As a result, Jonathan Sorrell, one of the original co-founders, will be stepping down as Trustee after 3 years of unparalleled dedication; followed by Wol Kolade, another co-founder and current Chair, who will step down when our new Chair is appointed. Both will join our esteemed Advisory Board. These moves are part of the Foundation’s governance and Board rotation protocol which will position the Board to invite further industry-leading expertise to continue to shape its bright future.
The 10,000 Interns Foundation is excited about this transformative period, which will focus on further innovation and the development of new, life-changing programmes.
Wol Kolade, Co-founder and Chair, said “The Foundation has grown at an incredible pace and to a point well beyond what we envisaged in 2020 when we started this journey. This evolution will support our brand, vision, and governance in matching our scale and ambition. I want to offer my thanks to Jon, the rest of my fellow co-founders and Trustees for their extraordinary efforts to date.”
Rebecca Achieng Ajulu-Bushell, Chief Executive, said “The Foundation owes Jon a huge debt of gratitude for his enormous contribution to the development of 10,000 Interns, and Wol for his continued dedication. I want to express my thanks for their help and guidance in my first year as CEO. I am incredibly excited for what the Foundation will achieve in this next year and beyond and I look forward to working with a new Chair and Trustees.”
