[London, October 2024] – The 10,000 Interns Foundation, a pioneering non-profit organisation dedicated to creating equity of opportunity and experience for Black talent in the UK, today announces the appointment of Jameela Raymond as its new Chief Operations Officer.
She brings six years of experience working within systems change, with a focus on catalysing new models of business leadership for the benefit of people and planet, and a proven track record of success in strategy and programme design and delivery. In this role, Jameela will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, including developing and operationalising new activities inline with the new ten year strategy and managing relationships with programme leading firms and key partners.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the 10,000 Interns Foundation at such an exciting time for the organisation. The work that the Foundation does is critical, for industry and interns alike, and I’m looking forward to putting my skills and expertise to use and supporting the Foundation in achieving its mission.” said Jameela.
Jameela joins the 10,000 Interns Foundation at a pivotal time of growth and expansion. The Foundation recently launched its first-ever Impact Report, demonstrating significant strides in placing Black interns across a range of sectors, including Financial Services and Healthcare. This appointment will be instrumental in strengthening the Foundation’s operational capacity to further its mission of creating a more equitable and inclusive workforce.
“As we continue to grow and expand our reach, strong operational leadership is essential. Jameela’s experience and expertise will be invaluable in ensuring we can effectively deliver on our mission and create a lasting impact for Black talent across the UK.” said David Hutchison, Chair of the Board, 10,000 Interns Foundation.
With demand for its programmes growing rapidly, the Foundation welcomes Jameela’s leadership as it scales its operations to increase its impact.
“Jameela’s appointment is a signal of our huge ambition for the future of the 10,000 Interns Foundation. Her leadership will not only strengthen our current operations but also help us build a sustainable and resilient organisation capable of driving long-term change for Black talent throughout the UK.” said Rebecca Ajulu-Bushell, CEO.
We are thrilled to have worked with Spencer Stuart on this successful search. Their diligence and commitment to diverse and inclusive Executive Search and recruitment processes is second to none. Katy Jarratt and Katharine Ward added incredible value, taking on our ambitions as their own and guiding us from scoping to shortlist to offer. Our growth through this next chapter has been made possible by their generous support.
